BARR Advisory’s core values set the foundation for everything we do. They’re at the forefront as we forge new partnerships, hire new associates, create new service lines, and more. That’s why we’ve put together “At Our Core”—a blog series that takes a deeper dive into each of BARR’s core values so you can see them in action. We’ve already explored “unparalleled support,” “transparency,” “inclusivity,” and “simplicity.” Today’s focus is on our final core value “future ready.”
What does it mean to be future ready? It means our clients’ challenges are our challenges and, as thought leaders, we innovate to provide the best solutions. It’s about embracing continuous improvement and driving innovation to solve unrecognized needs.
For Vince Maduri, manager, business development, being future ready is more important now than ever.
“As the market shifts around us—at times radically—a future-ready organization can be the calm and steady ship navigating the storm in any direction,” he said. “BARR Advisory is always thinking about the future, staying in front of industry trends or new government regulations, partnering with automation tools to streamline audit and consulting processes, and constantly building BARR’s internal resources to evolve with the needs of clients over time. When you work with BARR, you are working with an organization that defines future-ready.”

Disha Shah, associate consultant, cyber risk advisory, agrees with Vince that companies being future ready is vital in 2022.
“With all of the unprecedented events we’ve seen in the past two years, a business needs to be ready to face the unknowns of the future,” she said. “Doing so gives us a perfect opportunity to expand our horizons when coming up with ideas to continuously improve. I see everyone at BARR striving to be future ready by engaging in things like industry training, knowledgeBARRs, and staying up to date on the latest cybersecurity tech advancements.”

When reflecting on the core value of future ready, Katie Bialy, senior consultant, cyber risk advisory, reminds us that “change is the only constant in life.”
“As I think about the future, I remind myself that change is coming,” she said. “Everything in our world is constantly changing. The pandemic has given us a great example of this. For me, being future ready isn’t about controlling what is to come. I try to create an intention for my day, week, month, etc., and accept the changes that come along the way. Throughout my time at BARR over the past year and a half, I’ve witnessed our company accepting change and pivoting as needed to continue to be future ready.”

This deeply-rooted ability to anticipate needs, both for clients and our internal team, is one of the reasons Jonnae Hill, manager culture and community engagement, became interested in BARR.
“I chose to work here because I could tell it was a forward-thinking organization,” said Jonnae Hill, manager, culture and community engagement. “The future here is bright, and the opportunities are endless. It’s a culture unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. The team is dynamic, supporting, and uplifting.”
