Every year for one day in October, BARR Advisory closes its doors and associates open their hearts for a day full of volunteerism. From animal shelters in New England, the Houston Food Bank, the Dougy Center in Portland, Harvesters in Kansas City, the Kids’ Food Basket in Grand Rapids, Mich., and more, BARR associates joined forces, spending the Sixth Annual Day of Giving volunteering to better their communities.
“Day of Giving is one of our favorite days of the year. On this day, we all have one shared purpose—to make our communities stronger. It is amazing to see all of the different ways BARR associates serve from coast to coast,” said Jonnae Hill, head of People and Culture.

In addition to BARR’s Day of Giving, October is also BARR Belong Foundation Month. Through volunteerism, financial support, community leadership, and pro-bono services, the BARR Belong Foundation connects associates with causes close to their hearts.
“The BARR Belong Foundation exists to help create stronger, safer, more secure communities where our associates live and work. Simply stated, we are building a culture of philanthropy at BARR so that our associates have opportunities to support the causes important to them by lending their voice or giving their time, talents, and financial resources,” said Hill.
