As a HITRUST Authorized External Assessor, BARR Advisory will be presenting at a two-part, virtual HITRUST Community Extension Program (CEP) event at noon CST on Wednesday, June 23, and Thursday, June 24, 2021.
HITRUST Community Extension Programs are informative, collaborative sessions that offer knowledge sharing, resources, and support for organizations looking to enhance their risk management practices and start their HITRUST Certification journey.
Participants will be able to network with peer organizations to talk about the challenges, benefits, and lessons learned in leveraging the HITRUST CSF to build and apply a risk management program. Participants can also earn continuing professional education (CPE) credits for completing the program.
On both days, attendees will begin by taking part in a HITRUST-led discussion, followed by a breakout session of their choice.
Swathi West, HITRUST manager at BARR, will be presenting, “The Dos and Don’ts—Getting Started with HITRUST,” on day one at 1 p.m. CST. West leads BARR’s HITRUST practice, along with planning and executing information technology SOC audits, client risk assessments, and GRC Advisory engagements for BARR’s rapidly expanding client portfolio.
“Events like this are essential to those of us working with HITRUST because they create a unique, collaborative environment where we can each share our experiences—from challenges to successes,” said Swathi West, HITRUST manager at BARR. “It opens up your mind to new ideas from others, and gives you a stage to share your own ideas and establish yourself as a thought leader.”
HITRUST established its Community Extension Program to help companies adopt and leverage HITRUST resources and better address common security and privacy challenges. All events are planned and carried out by HITRUST and HITRUST External Assessors, like BARR.
